Ronin Bushido Aikido
Ronin Bushido Aikido, established and led by Sensei Ronald Boyd, has been active in Kentucky for 30 years. Sensei Boyd was taught Aikido by Richard Rood, who was a student of Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido. Sensei Boyd has also studied under Kisshoumaru and Moriteru Ueshiba, Morihei Ueshiba’s son and grandson.
Ronald Boyd is well respected in the Aikido community and has taught many law enforcement and other agencies through his Aikido Control Training program, as well as teachers in how to deal with trouble in a safe manner without having to cause serious harm (though one could if one wanted).
Aikido is unique from many other martial arts styles and focuses on internal strength over physical muscle. Aikido is excellent for anyone from the age of seven or eight, up into the seventies. Everyone can gain something from Aikido.
Aikido focuses on dealing with violent and threatening situations through the use of techniques that will keep you safe, without the need to brutally harm your attacker. There are no real punches or kicks in Aikido, but deals with centering and guiding of yours and your opponents energy.
New classes begin every six months or so. The next new classes will begin in August. The first class is always free, so check back to find the exact date and come check us out.
